Las macr\u00f3fitas utilizan los nutrientes del agua para poder crecer y crean ambientes muy favorables para el desarrollo microbiano en la zona de sus ra\u00edces (rizosfera). Esto se debe a que liberan materia org\u00e1nica de gran calidad (l\u00e1bil) y ox\u00edgeno a trav\u00e9s de las ra\u00edces que estimulan la actividad microbiana. Por lo tanto, la actividad biol\u00f3gica asociada a las plantas y las comunidades microbianas de la rizosfera ayuda a reducir las cargas de nutrientes de las aguas residuales. En este proyecto se evaluar\u00e1 la capacidad de retenci\u00f3n de nutrientes y materia org\u00e1nica de tres especies de macr\u00f3fitas aut\u00f3ctonas: Sparganium erectum, Apium nodiflorum y Potamogeton pectinatus, t\u00edpicas de la regi\u00f3n mediterr\u00e1nea. Estas especies han sido seleccionadas por Naturalea, junto con el vivero Tres Turons y el Jard\u00edn Bot\u00e1nico de Barcelona en base a criterios funcionales, mec\u00e1nicos y de paisaje.
