Passion for research

The URL is open to any universities, public or private institutions, and companies that want to harness the human potential and infrastructure it offers. The multidisciplinary professional profile of those associated with the URL, as well as its design and characteristics, make it a unique outdoor laboratory in Europe. The URL offers scientific and technical support to research into the effects of urban activity on rivers as well as the resolution of more specific technical needs.

We offer third parties the possibility to perform assays and/or experiments. The services that can be developed at the URL are as follows.

Technique or product validations.
Technique or product characterisations.
Assessment of secondary effects.
Analysis of treatment of specific pollutants.

We offer the option of renting out part of the infrastructure to third parties to carry out their own research with or without the scientific and technical support of the URL staff.

12 short (12 m) and 3 long channels (35 m), each measuring 0.74 x 0.47 m.
The water circulating in the channels comes from a main tank that receives treated water from an effluent of the wastewater treatment plant.
The water inlet flow at each channel can be adjusted to a maximum of 0.25 l/s.
